This four-day course is designed for postgraduates with a minimum Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy. It is also suitable for paramedical and nursing graduates, and those with a Diploma in Health Science (Beauty Therapy). If you are passionate and results-oriented, want to learn about advanced procedures, and associate yourself with cosmetic and plastic surgeons, this is the course for you.
It is designed to help you keep up with current trends, terminology, ingredients, techniques and procedures in today's rapidly evolving industry.
It includes a doctor demonstration and focuses on areas that are currently lacking in the industry. You will receive in-depth training for competency in:
- how to partner with cosmetic physicians
- understanding the procedures
- possible side-effects related to a range of procedures
- cosmetic diagnosis and consultation
- effective client communication
- hands-on pre- and post-operative care
- choosing effective equipment and products

Activities
The course features a range of activities including role plays and short quizzes or other tasks related to the course notes.
Training and reference manual
We provide a comprehensive training and reference manual of over 230 pages. This manual has been developed with qualified writers and editors to ensure clear, readable and structured information that is consistent with, and complementary to the course. It is professionally produced and includes a table of contents, page numbering, references, a glossary and a resource section.
Assessment
You will need to study the training manual after the course and return an open-book exam two weeks after attending the practical part of the course. The exam contains over 160 questions and the pass mark has been set at 85%.
Students are required to complete the open book exam and attend all four days of the course to be eligible for assessment.
Practical exam - you are expected to demonstrate:
- that you have checked the client's medical history
- you are able to clearly define contraindications
- who needs what procedure, and where
- good communications skills during the consultation process
- the use of open-ended questions
- the ability to clarify and understand your client's needs and expectations
- the correct way to fill out forms.
